Embeddings, translation, speech, moderation, OCR, web search, and image generation — metered to your molecule project, no vendor account needed.
Molecule operates a set of AI capability services you can call two ways: as MCP tools from any agent, or in app code through the matching @molecule/* bond. Both are metered to your molecule project — no separate vendor account, no extra API keys.
| Capability | MCP tool | In app code |
|---|---|---|
| Text embeddings | embed_text | @molecule/api-ai-embeddings-* |
| Translation | translate | @molecule/api-ai-translation-* |
| Text-to-speech | text_to_speech | @molecule/api-ai-speech-* |
| Transcription | transcribe_audio | @molecule/api-ai-speech-* |
| Content moderation | moderate_content | @molecule/api-content-moderation-* |
| OCR (text from images) | extract_text | @molecule/api-ocr-* |
| Web search | web_search | @molecule/api-web-search-* |
| Image generation | generate_image | the AI image bond |
| Unattended agent runs | submit_agent_run | the agent-run API |
Each capability is also a core with swappable bonds — a paid vendor provider and a self-hosted open-source one. You are never stuck with the hosted path; swap in your own keys any time.
npx mlcl add @molecule/api-ai-translation --injectThe generated wiring points at the hosted provider by default and the package README shows the exact calls. In agents, the tools are already there after `mlcl mcp install` — try translate or extract_text directly in your next session.
